Heaven and earth aren’t motivated by kindness; they treat all things like straw dogs. The sages aren’t motivated by kindness either; they treat people like straw dogs.

Isn’t the space between heaven and earth like a bellows? Empty, yet it never runs out of power; the more it moves, the more it produces. Too much talking quickly wears you out — better to guard what is within.
